How Carrabelle Arrests Work
Carrabelle Police Department is the city's own municipal agency. An officer is on duty at all times. The station itself may sit empty. Neither point promises online arrest data around the clock. When city police make an arrest, booking happens at Franklin County Jail in Eastpoint, where the sheriff's Detention Division runs intake and supervision. The countywide FCSO Arrest Log is the official publishing route.
Carrabelle is the county's larger incorporated city, with 2,606 residents counted in the 2020 Census profile. Only two cities exist here. Just Carrabelle and Apalachicola hold that status. In the log's Arresting Agency field, Carrabelle Police has appeared beside FCSO, Apalachicola Police, and other agencies. Check that field closely. A city shown in an entry may mark residence rather than the event, so it proves no arrest location, arresting department, or current custody site on its own.
A booking photograph documents intake at the county jail. The booking record lists the charge brought at the time of arrest.
Where Carrabelle Arrests Get Published
Carrabelle itself publishes no online arrest log. No city jail roster, daily blotter, or booking-photo page exists either. That does not mean the police keep no arrest records. It means the public path starts at the county level. Direct requests fill any gaps. Official sources lead the table.
| Channel | What it covers | Photo status | Authority |
|---|---|---|---|
| FCSO Arrest Log | Dated county bookings, including entries assigned to Carrabelle Police | Not observed on sampled current entries | Official |
| FCSO app | Arrests, alerts, news and agency tools | Official photo lead; no guarantee for every entry | Official |
| Carrabelle Police | Agency contact and report-request starting point | Request availability | Official |
| Apalachicola Times crime news | Episodic county crime reports | Some historical issues include photos | Independent news |
| County aggregators | Copies of county records, sometimes with a Carrabelle agency label | Often photo-heavy | Unofficial |
The official log is text-forward and paginated. Entries list name, city, race, sex, age, arresting agency, arrest date, and charge descriptions. Custody status is not reliably answered there. Use VINELink Check or call FCSO for that question.
Find Someone Arrested in Carrabelle
A careful lookup separates three records. Publication, custody, and court outcome are three different records. Fresh entries may also lag intake, since FCSO posts no fixed refresh interval or weekend schedule.
- Open the 24 Hour Arrests guide, then inspect the newest page of the official FCSO log. A calendar date does not prove the item was posted within the last 24 hours.
- Review older pages through the Arrest Log guide. Match the name and date, then confirm that the Arresting Agency field says Carrabelle Police Department when agency identity matters.
- Check the official FCSO app if an intake photograph is needed. Do not assume that every booking has a current app photo.
- For present custody, check VINELink and contact FCSO Detention. The arrest archive is not a live roster.
- If no useful entry appears, request the police report from Carrabelle and the booking record or booking photograph from FCSO Public Records.
- Follow the case through the Franklin County Clerk's court search. A court disposition is the later result, while a booking charge is only the starting charge.
The Franklin County recent-arrests guide covers the county feed, photo route, records law, and custody limits in one place. Turn there when another agency made the arrest. It also helps when the agency link stays unclear.
Carrabelle Police Arrest Records
Start with the Carrabelle Police Department at 1206 Highway 98 East, Carrabelle, FL 32322. The phone is 850-697-3691. Fax reaches 850-697-8919. The station may sit unattended even with an officer on duty. If the non-emergency line does not answer, the official page points to the Franklin County Sheriff at 850-697-2113. Emergencies always go to 911.
No dedicated police-records form, fixed fee, or guaranteed response time appears on the city site. Carrabelle City Hall sits at the same street address and serves as the records fallback. Hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Contacts are 850-697-2727, 850-697-3618, and info@mycarrabelle.com. Ask who holds the Chapter 119 custodian role. Ask whether electronic delivery is an option.
County intake files go through FCSO Public Records, Dana Pavon, at 850-670-4807 or PublicRecords@franklinsheriff.com. Give the person's name, the date or date range, Carrabelle Police as the arresting agency, and a case number if known. Request the “booking record and booking photograph.” FCSO does not require identifying information from a requester, though a delivery method and enough facts to locate the record are still needed. Heavy staff or technical work can cost extra. No flat photo fee or universal deadline is posted.
Carrabelle Booking Records Run Deeper
The public roster tells only part of the story. Florida's GS2 records schedule allows an internal booking record to hold much more. A booking number and the booking and arresting officers can sit in the file. Time and place, charges, and a probable-cause summary can too. The FCSO web log shows a smaller set of fields. Blank bond, time, or photo columns mean little. The county simply does not publish every piece it keeps.
Ask for the rest. A records request can reach the underlying booking file. The custodian can tell you which agency holds each piece. Carrabelle Police keeps its own report. FCSO Detention holds the county intake material. Florida law lets agencies withhold open investigative material. Juvenile details, sealed portions, and other exempt parts can stay back too. Denial is not the end of the road. Florida Statutes §119.07 sets out how the legal basis must be identified. It also shows how nonexempt portions still get produced.
Carrabelle Arrest News Sources
Newspapers fill part of the gap. The Apalachicola Times crime category carries the strongest local arrest coverage. Scanned Times issues have printed FCSO arrest reports with date, name, age, city of residence, charge description, and agency. Some older issues run photographs too. News reporting stays episodic, though. It is no same-day jail feed and no current-custody check.
Commercial mugshot sites are another option, with caveats. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, and Mugshots.zone all keep Franklin County pages rather than Carrabelle-only feeds. A Carrabelle Police tag shows up only when copied data supplies one. Those pages run stale, duplicate, or thin. Treat them as leads. Confirm each detail with Carrabelle Police, FCSO, or the Clerk. Arrests.org's county navigation lists no Franklin-specific page, so a different Florida county page says nothing about Carrabelle coverage.
On Duty Is Not Online
Carrabelle's clearest local distinction is easy to miss. An officer is on duty at all times, the police page says. Yet the city site offers no public booking feed. Staffing never guarantees online publication. For an urgent safety response, use the police, sheriff, or 911 route the agency states. For a document, go through the city and county records custodians instead.
The county log lists arrest dates, not posting timestamps. Records office hours are not the log's update schedule. Can't find a very recent Carrabelle arrest? Note the time and agency, reload the newest county page, and use the direct contact path. For an older event, work through the paginated archive and then request the record if it has rolled off. That approach handles both web delay and the fact that an archive is not a live jail headcount.
Franklin County holds just two incorporated cities. The sibling Apalachicola Recent Arrests page covers the county seat and its own police-records route. Neither page is a standalone roster. Both tie city police activity to the same county detention and publication system.
